 A large part of the town and commune of Tolkmicko lies in the Elbląg Upland Landscape Park with a rich relief and abounding forests. It is a combination of mountain, forest and sea landscapes, providing breathtaking views. The area includes three forest reserves: Kadyński Las (Kadyny Forest), Buki Wysoczyzny Elbląskiej (Beeches of Elbląg Upland), and Pióropusznikowy Jar (Fern Ravine)The Vistula Lagoon, which is the northern border of the Tolkmicko commune, is a perfect place for sailing and water sports Kadyny is the location of the largest oak in Poland - Jan Bażyński oak - whose circumference exceeds 10 m, while the waters of the Vistula Lagoon boast the largest erratic boulder called Sacred Stone Rare animal species present here include: Sika deer, elks, otters  The commune features numerous monuments, including a 14th-century parish church of St. Jacob in Tolkmicko as well as a Gothic tower, a 17/18th-century bourgeois house and an 18th-century baroque chapel. Those who come to the village of Łęcze can see a complex of arcaded houses from late 18th and early 19th century and a baroque church from 1746. Other interesting monuments include a former spa house from 1842 in the village of Nadbrzeże - Połoniny and a pseudo-Gothic church from 1885 in PogrodzieAmong the most interesting towns and villages of the Elbląg Upland is Kadyny. One of its owners was German Emperor Wilhelm II, who reconstructed the entire village with the help of top architects  It features a complex of manor buildings with a baroque palace, former granary and orangery, a still-famous majolica shop, a delightfully situated 18th-century Franciscan monastery and meticulously renovated former school building designed by a well-known architect, Conrad SteinbrechtThis building is currently home to a stylish restaurant and a hotel called Gościniec pod Srebrnym Dzwonem (Silver Bell Inn), which offers a unique combination of history and discrete luxury |
